Today was the first day of health assessment for our children at Cox Elementary School. The children and healthcare students had a ton of fun as we checked height and weight, blood pressure, vision, glucose and hearing. By the mid-morning, our students got a hang of the process, and the rest of the day went by smoothly. After our busy and productive day with the children, our friends at Trinity Baptist Church prepared us a meal of southern fried chicken, squash, green beans, and every ones favorite, sundaes. The meal was delicious and we could tell it was made with love. We are so thankful to have to the people and churches in this community that prepare our lunches. We could not do it without you. After our well prepared lunch, we attended a presentation by the National Women In Agriculture Association, Georgia Chapter. For those of you that do not know this incredible organization, their mission is to empower socially disadvantage women in rural and urban America to gain available local and federal resources by educate, develop, and provide networking opportunities. Our lovely presenter explained to us the key guidelines of safety for adolescents in the farms. After the presentation, all the students participated in a very fun and interactive role play. Thank you to NWIAA for coming out and speaking to us. After our presentation and a little nap, it was time to head to C. S. Pawell Farmworker Camp. Half was into the evening, it began to shower. But we did not let a little rain stop us. We did our usual stations as the day before. So pride us the Moultrie Team 2015. Eight more wonderful days left to go!
